In checking the calendar, I find my trip this year coincides with Carnival. For anyone who has been there during Carnival or locals, what can I expect? Will anything (restaurants, grocery stores) be closed? Any info appreciated!

For many years our winter trip coincided with Carnival in Bonaire. Most businesses remain open throughout although on the day of the big parade some of the downtown businesses may close as the streets are blocked off. If you can go to the big parade it is really quite fun and the children's parade, which used to be on a different day, was also fun to watch.
