Actually, Blue Angel and Caribe Blu have been owned by the same people for the last several years.

I'm told nothing significant will change.

I hope not. We have missed it this year due to having a little baby at home, but I am already looking forward to our trip next year. If it's not the same, it just wouldn't be the same. :blinking:

I will be there October 29-November 2. Will be interesting to see if any changes. I hope not. Maybe they will fix the water.

I dont think the new owners are going to be "Running" the place and thats why they will keep Jeanine there. Also, it may take some time to get things changed there as you know the way things work in Mexico... very slowly..

No. Although Mike and Matt are both rather large gentlemen and really good guys, they are not the same person. Matt is a very experienced cave diver, instructor, and DM for Blue Angel. Mike doesn't actually work for BA or CB, but he is married to Jeanie, who does.

I stand corrected. Have always dealt with Jeanie, but have never met Mike.

Last April, Mike's 2 brothers and nephew were down for a few days while we were there. We were able to dive one day with the guys, I think Matt must have been our DM. (picture that if you will...Me, Matt & Mike on one boat...boyancy test!! )

Later that day as were getting ready to leave Coconuts, Mike and the boys came rambling up the stairs...needless to say, we closed the place a couple hours later.

Good to hear we will get to see them both again soon.

Just got back today from staying at Caribe Blu and diving with Blue angel since Thursday.

Yes, it has been sold, spoke allot with new owners as I was the "First Customer" as they put it.

I will write a full report in the morning.

And to all the na sayers about Caribe Blu, they were wrong... there were a couple of items, but more positive then negitive by a long shot.

Ok, need to unpack and download pictures. Oh and the trip was AWESOME

Na Sayers about CB or BA? Sure there are nicer hotels and dive ops with more services, but criticizing either at those prices would be silly, IMO.

Marathon Shallows? Maracaibo Shallows, maybe?
