I have a regulator from US Divers but can't identify the 1st stage. I have been told it is a PRODIVE, Royal, Calypso, and even a Conshelf SE series 1st stage. I tried loading the pic but can't. Please help.

Might want to toss this in the regulator sub-forum to get more specalized help.

no one can possibly identify it without a picture. Go to www.imageshack.us and host the picture there. Click "Browse" and find the picture on your computer, then double click on it. Then click "host" on imageshack and wait a minute. Then copy the "thumbnail for forums 1" box and paste it in your post. That will give us a thumbnail we can click on to see the fullsize image.

I can't, but I know I've seen something similar that someone else ID'd. Aqualung made fairly well known stuff, you'll probably have half a dozen people reminiscing of the time they owned that reg by tomorrow morning.

AQUARIUSBCS:
Here is a link to the pic that i am refering to. http://www.freewebs.com/aquariusbcs/regulator.htm

If you can tell me what it is I would appreciate it.
The first stage is metal and the second stages are the plastic stuff.. does that help..

Well it is not a conshelf of any kind... unusual first stage shape.

1980's Prodive 1st stage- I have rebuilt a few.
Just careful how you swing it, thats a chuck of metal.
IM pressure is some where around 132 PSI if my memory serves me right.

Hope that helps..

whatever it is...you are in need of a new one

I'm 95% certain you have a U.S. Divers Royal regulator. I have the same model of regulator purchased new in 1983. This was USD's "top of the line" for a couple of years.

If memory serves on these regulators, there was a recall of all plastic second stages for free flow problems. Mine was replaced with a Conshelf 30 metal second stage. The one you have may not have the original second stage which may be why there is confusion about identifying it.

This was a good regulator that performed well for me over many years. The angled body of the first stage also made a nice "hose nest" to prevent mashing your head on the body. Swivel bodies eventually replaced this style of first stage.

Hope this helps...

These are not the Pro dive 2nd stages.
They were large (almost 4” in diameter-oversized) and were circular.
The center had the standard purge button and there were a series of small circular holes that ran around the front cover- about eight of them.
All of the second stages I have seen have been blue or red.

One of the cool things about the first stage is that slot on the front is a direct intermediate pressure change.

This was probably a series of regualtors that were put together. Not the first time I have seen this.
