We're going to plan our trip for June 1 through June 5.

Thinking to see about doing a day trip on Peace to Anacapa and possibly a "package" on Catalina with Scuba Luv.

Looks like the dive park's a nice dive, so we'll try to get in a shore dive or two as well.

Does that sound like a reasonable plan? Would love to hook up with any of y'all who are going to be around during that time ...

You will have a great time. Not to worry!

Well Bob, I hope I get to dive with you while you are here cause I'll be up in your neck of the woods the following month for a week or more.
I'd believe everything Claudette has said, except for the beach diving part. Summer time shore diving in So Cal is usually crap, though you may catch an odd day here and there or we may have good conditions all the way up until the week you arrive and then a storm in the South will turn everything to mud and waves. But if things are good, we will let you know and you can decide if you want to give it a shot. Though the only site I can recommend that would compare to your backyard would be Long Point (AKA Old Marineland.)

I look forward to seeing you guys in June!

Aaaargh... that weekend is the Long Beach SCUBA Show and I know I'll be there this year. Maybe I'll just make it a one day trip to the show and be back here to dive with you.

Friends don't let friends dive Al80s.
Hey Dette I resemble that remark. How soon we forget what we started with.

Bob give us a holler when you're in town & ready for a beach dive.

My recommendations:
1. Anacapa on the Peace.
2. Catalina Shore dive at Casino Dive Park.
3. Catalina on the Magician.
4. Dinner with Bruce and his family.

Except for my little boat, Peace has the best food for anything under 30,000 tons.

BTW: You can also pop in on the scuba show in Long Beach.

Wow ... looking forward to hooking up with as many of you as possible. Josh and Robb I've had the pleasure of diving with up here ... payback's a beach ... :D

This is gonna be fun ...

You should be able to get a nice sampling of So Cal diving in a 4-5 day trip. Claudette gave you some excellent info.

The only thing that I would add, is that if your think itinerary will allow you an opportunity to venture South, you might also want to consider a day trip at San Diego's Wreck Alley. One of the featured wrecks is the Mackenzie class destroyer, the HMCS Yukon. This is the sister ship of the HMCS Saskatchewan ... it might be interesting to compare the two (one is upright the other on her port side).

Bob, Claudette has covered EVERYTHING up here from Malibu to Laguna, and Rick brings up a great point.

All if there is a desire, I will charter the Lois Ann for a Wreck Alley trip when Bob comes down. We will name it the

NWGratefulDiveWreckAlleyVisitingFamilyExtravaganza!

How sweet would that be, y'all dream it, and let me go to work.

Bob what do you think? All PM me with interest.

Farnsworth Banks, June 3rd on the Magician with the Sea Divers ;
a fun & hardy group, and they do tolerate DIR-ness to a degree. . .
