I don’t think this can be compared without cognizance of duration and overhead/not overhead (e.g I’m cold let’s head to surface)

I'm just looking for averages. People can fill in the blanks as they see fit. People have diifent lvls of dealing with cold too. Like my wife for example. Under 70 is cold to her. Air or water.

California, and other cold water places I've dived
Waterproof D7 drysuit
Weezle undergarments
Ultima dry glove system
10mm hood

I see others diving in California in wetsuits without a hood. I get cold easily, and I don't move much during long dives.

For California inland, how about Arizona? Is that inland enough?
Anything below 30' in the summer is the same as California ocean. A week and a half ago I had 55° in the lake. Holds that pretty much year round. Only the surface gets into the 70s in the summer.

California coast (Monterey/Carmel) - Merino wool base layer (WoolX), heavy backpacking socks (REI), Merino wool liner for drygloves (REI), 400 gram Thinsulate undergarment (DUI XM450 - going to buy Santi BZ400), 200 gram vest (Santi BZ200) when I'm on my DPV and/or planning on a lot of time in the water, 10mm hood

Florida caves - Base layer, heavy socks, 400g Thinsulate, 7mm hood

Florida coast (Keys) - 3mm shorty
