We used to make inventing a new BWRAF a requirement of the DM course...

Bolton Wanderers Rarely Attempt Football (probably have to be English to really get that one...)
Bestiality With Rattlesnakes - Always Fatal
Big Women Really Are Fat (sorry... I didn't invent it!)
Barry White Records Are Funky
Burger With Relish And Fries

And a whole string of references to Britney that aren't fit for family consumption...

Grae

Beer, Wine, Rum And Fun is probably the only clean one :p

Big Women Really Are Fun

Seriously that is what my instructor taught us...

BWRAF- Sound made by my cat upchucking a hairball. "Begin With Review And Friend" really sounds wimpy. Something a HAHVAD adman came up with I'm sure.
How about
Bored With Really Angry Females
I've always heard the "Big Women Really Are Fun" one.
I like the Rattlesnake one though.

Big Women Release Air Faster
Blondes With Reputations Are Fun
Bruce Willis Ruins Action Films

I heard it as:
Bruce- bcd
Willis- weights
Ruins-releases
All - air
Films-final head to toe
Completely- computers (added later)
(our LDS owners wife is black, and has a great sense of humor)
Black Women Really Are F'ing Crazy- whenever she is in earshot

mnemonics: memory aids
pneumonic: of or pertaining to the lungs

Cripes... now how do I remember that? :doctor:

Cripes... now how do I remember that? :doctor:
:rofl3:

Now that I have the BWRAF mnemonic down pat, what does BWRAF mean? I get the buoyancy, weights, and air--I check those, although I have left the weightbelt once or twice. Releases? Have I signed the operator's liability release? Final? Final what? If it's okay with you guys, I'm going to use the "F" for fins--I have had to put those on after my giant stride a few times.

I'm too stupid to memorize mnemonics, so I just do a head-to-toe gear check:

Hood
Mask
primary reg breathed in the water
Secondary reg breathed in the water
BC inflate/deflate/dump valves
Drysuit inflate/deflate
gauges
weights
primary light
backup lights
cutting device
pocket contents
fins

special equipment is a separate part of the dive planning mnemonic.
