I have been reading on the board for about two weeks. There is such an array of opinions on regs. I am ready to buy and just can't choose. My LDS only carries Aqua Lung/Apeks. Apeks would be OK but I have Scubapro MK20 (trying to sell) and a S600.
Should I have the MK20 serviced to meet the MK25 standards or buy a new set.

I dive in 60-80 degree water. Recreational only.
APeks ..which model..
Zeagle
Oceanic
Atomic

Please help with this decision. I am just not sure if the Scubapro is worth it anymore.

Thanks...

is there anything wrong with your mk20? if there is nothing wrong with it and all you are worried about is the newer model I would not bother. I still have a mk5 that I still dive with and It works great

What wrong with Mk20?

The only reason is that I have to send it to Scubapro to have the nut replaced. I also use an Air2. I was thinking it might be a good idea to switch to the APeks XTX200 with the free OCO. I love my S600.

I have ScubaPro and Apeks regs. But, I can't find why you want to spend extra money for the new regulator. Are you tired with the current reg or just want to get the new reg to show off.

Fix MK20 or if you really want to spend money, why don't you get only first stage, MK25 or MK17?

Apeks XTX200 good performance reg, but I don't know why you spend so much money in new reg?

I satisfactory my Apeks 200 and Mk25/S600 and Mk17

Makes sense. I am in the military and get really good deals on the regs from our MWR. XTX200 with free Octo for 475. Not the showy type just want to use the best gear I can.
I can afford to get a new first stage and still get the MK20 fixed. By getting the MK20 fixed it would be like a MK25. If I did this what would be the best option for a backup 1st stage. A SEA special order or Apeks or a MK17?

I would say Apeks 200:D

Only for the first stage back up, SP MK17... That is more than enough....

It can be a good cold water reg when you have a chance to dive in the cold water later.
