Sea Squirt,

About wet suits and warmth: get one that does the job! Sounds like you are a candidate for a 5-3-3 or a 5-5-5 (translation: 5mm body-3mm arms-3mm legs or full 5mm suit). I have been on numerous dives where a full range of apparel was sported by divers. I have even been on a dive where one person (a lady Brit, by coincidence) wore a full 5mm while another diver (a lady from Southern California) wore a bathing suit. Barbara and I were happy in 3mm wet suits.

The message: wear what keeps you warm and do not let what others are using "intimidate you!

Hi Joewr

I couldn't agree with you more. Since certifying, I have gone from a 3mm shortie, to 3mm "longie" plus little neoprene socks (!) - I guess gloves are in order, since that's what's causing most of the chill factor these days...

And who was it who laughed at me when I got my gloves????
Hmmmm???

Joe - seeing as you're the founder of the CAD, what do you say we induct the li'l Squirt into the club? You might have to go over the rules and regulations with her (and explain what CAD is!)....

My partner is the Photographer and I the finder of the subject matter.
Prior to diving my partner will suggest a particular marine creature that he is after, if I locate it for him he gets so excited he punches his fist in the water and gives me a huge grin. he gets great pleasure taking photos and I equally enjoy locating the subjects, and on very rare occasions he lets me use his camera (ha ha). ;)

Fishkiller:

What are you waiting for? You have been nominated for VP of Marketing. Does this mean you haven't printed out the brochures yet? And what about the contracts? How are we supposed to fleece....uh.. I mean...accept donations from these guys? Geeze! :D

Seasquirt: I know what you mean, it is always difficult with an unknown buddy. If I'm shown something neat, I generally take my reg out and do the grin thing. Squealing has also been heard in my vacinity. Recently I've taken to doing a 3-some (no comments guys and stop that heavy breathing) with my sister and her boyfriend as we always know what we're on about under water! Some of the signs are a bit weird though, not to mention down right rude but hey! we know what we're taking about.
You two don't mind a bit of plagarism do you? I like the sign language idea, I'll have to see if I can convince the other two.

Joewr: I have to agree with Keralucu, Seasquirt is a perfect candidate for CAD, as is anybody else that wears gloves in 26 deg C water [staring significantly in Keralucu's direction].

Ooh, note: If you guys are CADs, does that make us girls CADettes? :egrin:

That's a good one. Your friend is most likely referring to the icicles which have formed on wires or buildings which are falling off (at least I hope so)... today (Oct 30) it's a balmy 10C (50F) out and we're still walking around with our "light" fall jackets.

Hi Amoeba

I think I can speak for me and Keralucu when I say HOORAY for sibling telepathy, or whatever you want to call it - we have won many games of pictionary that way, and in the water it cuts down on a lot of futile gesturing and slate grabbing. As for the sign language, works great as long as you can all remember the damn signs, and don't start getting into an underwater argument about certain letters (remember that sis?!). For chatterboxes like me, it's hard to keep it all in till the SI!

I can picture it very easily. :D

Amoeba,

"Recently I've taken to doing a 3-some (no comments guys and stop that heavy breathing) with my sister and her boyfriend "

Oh no. One can not simply let this flutter on by.

How often do you do this 3-some? Are there any pictures involved? Video? Ever consider making it a 4-some?

I could go on, but the subject matter lends itself to comments that would not be worthy of this board. So many comments, so clean a board. Sigh.
