With mine, there was no cotton or any other liner...just goretex and fiberglass. I think additional lining material would defeat the purpose of the goretex.

My surgeon approved diving with the cast, or I wouldn't have. I didn't experience any problems. But, that doesn't mean it is the right decision for everyone.
 
My worry would be how the pressure will affect the healing process. Might be a good idea to get the opinion of a doc who has knowledge of diving and broken bones. Perhaps DAN or somebody like minded.
 
This is probably a question for the docs, but is not anyone concerned about the activity releasing clots? I know this is related the the extent of the fx and the length of time the patient spent on his bum...so would it be a concern in this case?
 
Regardless of the healing process, if something were to happen to you under water, could you handle the situation with a broken wrist? Conservative profile aside, getting tangled in line or blowing an o-ring and having to do an OOA could require the use of that wrist. Can you hold onto a donated reg and operate the LP hose at the same time? Just some things to think about.
