How many divers look after their bolt snaps ?
A "quick lick and a promise" I am sure.
I rinse and lube the springs after every dive, a little squirt of something like WD-40 lanolin rust prevention is what I am now using, plenty of products will do the job.
And you will have bolt snaps with more bottom time than some on here.
I only dive fresh water, but I clean and lube mine monthly (approximately). I rarely have to replace any.

Legends never die.

Besides, good information is worth building on.
Standing on the shoulders of giants...

While carbon fiber clips are not yet a thing (can you make a carbon fiber spring???), the original question remains valid.

Use sewing machine oil on the spring.

I do not lube springs etc never had an issue
Diving only salt water I find the extra care helps [lube] helps.

Hey guys, is there really a difference between a $15 Scubapro boltsnap versus a 90¢ one from a hardware store?

Edit:
Just saw jim's post that said that the hardware store clips don't have stainless steel springs.

Better than the HW version, cheaper than SP.
