I'm a Fish!
I had surgery to remove a tumor (meningioma) in the back lower part of my brain (posterior fossa). My MD has advised me not to dive for at least 6-8 months, which I will abide by. He was unsure as to how I would withstand pressures after that time. He suggested that I do a depth of no more than 1 atmosphere, to see how it goes. Has anyone out there had brain surgery and dives normally (sport divers...deepest for me is @ 100 ft, to see something). I would love the hear input on others experiences and if out their dive MDs. I'm also looking to get my certification in hyperbaric nursing after all this is said and done, it I am able.

Thanks.

Liz

hey Liz, I had a pituitary tumor removed in May/04 and am back in the water. The primary concern with me was possibilty of CSF leak. I dive within rec limits but freedive in excess of 150 feet. No problems as of yet. I wish you the best and please keep posted.
