I use the Xscuba pockets on my harness waist strap, held in place right against the plate with keepers. It works great. I've never had more than 2 lbs in each one, so I can't comment on how it would hold up with alot more weight. The pockets are pretty small; maybe 2 solid weights would fit in each one, but I've never tried it.

Since you're talking about a small amount of weight here, I don't think the ease of ditchability is *that" crucial, and I think it's pretty unlikely that weights are going to tumble out unless you seriously overload the pockets. Most of the time in warm water I'm diving with either 1lb in one pocket or no lead.

I had 6lb solid weights in them for awhile ... now only 5 - both fit without problem...

I'm late to this old thread but I found it since I need a new weightbelt. Wouldn't a good solution (cold water diving with single LP 85 tank and 5.5 lbs STA) be to put a couple of the XS Scuba pockets upside down on the harness waist belt and then put one on each cam band? It seems to me if you are ever in a situation where you need to ditch weight, you don't need to ditch that much?

Godd and bad.

Good, since you can ditch smaller weights. Bad, since the pockets get in your way when you put on the rig (things tend to twist up) and "bad" since you no longer have the freedom of having "nothing" on your front side.

I used a 2,5 kilo p-weight + an ordinary weight belt with 4 kilos in it when I dove singles (steel tank). A good solution for me.

I use these great little pockets on my BP/W cam bands as well. As others stated, the velcro is much better than most velcro I have seen. Very durable. Highly suggest!

What's interesting to me is the XS Scuba Weight belts are all the same price weather they are 4, 6, or 8 pockets. That's odd considering they sell separate pockets for like $8.95 each? Am I missing something here?

Depending on where I'm diving, what I'm wearing, and if I'm renting tanks or not, I need 0-25 pounds. If I understand it correctly, the you can remove the pockets from the belt. So if I may need 25 lbs at some point, that's 5 pockets so I get the 6-pocket belt and remove two to place on the cam bands and then wear the belt. Or, if I only need 10 pounds, I can just put two pockets on the harness waist belt if desired (or where it on the belt if preferred). Seems like these XS belts with the pockets are a great deal and more importantly quite versatile?

They are actually in 2 pouch sections (2 pockets per "segment") though I've wondered if they couldn't be cut apart and just fuse the ends...
