One of the key pieces of input I have read many times is regarding arching the back. It took time, but that suggestion really worked for me. I almost felt like a high jumper, arching my back to position my center of gravity in the right place.

Grats and Very cool Jag! It always feels good to get a new piece of kit under control eh?

One thought, purely from MHOAVP (opinion and viewpoint), I notice the need to keep my back arched to be most pronounced while diving doubles. Diving 11#s of bp/sta and an HP100 single I can get dialed in to the point I don't notice the arching so much. I am usually always aware while wearing the twins, but only have 35 or so dives in them.

I think my point is take heart, it continues to improve. But I may just be rambling, it's early.

May be early there, but it's late here!

You can drop 2-4 lbs. going from a Ranger to a backplate system.

Jim, how much do you arch your back? Too much arching (like compensating for not enough weight) will give you a backache.

This is also why it is nice to have a wingset with three sets of bolt holes, although the Pioneers/Explorers should have your trim spot on from the beginning.

So is it that all the extra material in a ranger causes it to be more positive? It's just weird for me to believe that after years of 28-32 lbs I can go to 22! That would be awesome!

Belive it Cali! I used like 14-16 lbs w/ my Zeagle and when I switched I only used the BP (#6) and 2 lbs. yeah I guess it was all that padding and extra crap that made me use more weight, for nothing!

I am amazed!

Cali,
When I switched from my Zeagle Tech I was using 22# to get down with my 6.5 farmer john/jacket in fresh water. With the BP/W and STA that I made it now takes me only 12 #. Net loss of 10 pounds !!!
