So heading over to Maui in 1st week of Nov...gonna bring the 3 mm suit... however, I was wondering about the booties? Should I bring my big fins and booties or bring the warm water closed heel fins and no booties??

Most divers wear booties for the comfort on longer dives. You don't need them for warmth, if your full foot fins are comfortable though. You might encounter current, I would bring the stiffer fin unless you plan to freedive too.

Hmmmm... maybe I could forgo the wetsuit f its based on body mass...
I was also thinking about the booties for when I do the shore dives... but again, didn't know if they would be too warm.
I use booties everywhere, just safer.

I can't tell you how they are not. I know that I don't need them. He said they were safer. So, again, how are they safer? Or, how is wearing booties safer then not wearing booties?

i know it's rhetorical.. but what the he!!
YOU obviously don't have any razor sharp lava rock formations in FL, nor sea urchins, nor broken glass, nor rusty bolts on dive boats, nor jagged portals on wrecks, nor nor nor :biggrin3:
besides.. this is the HI forum..
and the OP was askin' about HI NOT FL.. and not about YOUR soft sandy beaches..
so.. get OUT!
and go back to drinkin' all night in your awesome party bars!
