there aren't all that many regulator failures due to water getting into the first stage as a result.
Catastrophic failures? Sure.

I work on plenty of regs that have been ruined by water intrusion, though. It's not an instantaneous thing, it's the chrome stripping away over time. Plenty of people drop regs off at the shop saying there's an issue with the second stage free flowing or whatever, but the real issue is massive IP creep from corrosion eating away the chrome and ruining the sealing surface.

Divers being too kind to their regs air blast water around swapping tanks and whack dustcaps straight on

Locking in the mositure for the festering to continue

Ha ha ha ha ha magnificent!

Concrete break wall, I dive off my property in shallower water.
This all works great for my needs. I spend time metal detecting and looking for artifacts of interest. I get about 1.5hrs of dive time.
I have many steps to go up and down so I am fine with small pony and one tank. Others have made dive set up suggestions.
Can i come dive off your property?

That's why I remove the dustcaps when storing my gear.

Yeah that is it, my stuff is pretty much always on a tank, for washing too so I just don't use them

And the stuff not on a tank too, I just don't use them

Except if I'm carrying and assembling on dark boats I'll use a din cap in case the oring rolls away

Is 110mm close enough or would you prefer 112.5mm

A little tighter is probably best. I have not measured my actual pony yet. Just pulled the online specs. What's that from?

Got a custom boot designed and made plus a T handle kit for my blacktip by Narcosis Junky / Yann Devouassoux. Turned out great.
