Please don't hijack this with suggestions for other car rental companies. We have plenty of "Who to rent from" threads for such. Let's talk about this company and their predecessor Budget, ok? Gracias! :grinbandit:

Liability is not mentioned on the booking page, but in the Policy Information: Liability insurance protects you against claims for injury or damage you cause to third persons or their property. It does not cover injury to you, or damage to the rented vehicle. If at the time of rental, the customer cannot present proof of coverage for Mexican Liability insurance, he/she will be required to purchase Liability as a condition of rental. International travelers should be prepared to present valid proof of conforming coverage including a description of coverage of the Liability limits. Cost for SLI: $13.00 USD x day + tax
Blueway Car Rental requires your credit card information to secure this reservation. However, Your credit card will not be charged at this time. PLEASE READ THE LOCAL POLICY INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING. If your reservation requires a credit card in order to book, please be sure to cancel at least 24 hours in advance of pickup in order to avoid a one day charge as a cancellation fee.
Saw some negative reviews on Trip Advisor, but they seemed to be from people who had not READ THE LOCAL POLICY INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING or expected a car with US rental standards.
One customer who did like them said that they put a hold on his card, but then when he didn't have a problem - paid case for the rental without insurance fees. Sounds dangerous to me - insurance fraud in Mexico. :shocked2:
