Dove the bridge today. visibility was good!

It's probably not uncommon but i was delighted to see a manatee just off the east end of the beach. video:

i was surprised it kept coming closer, need to learn more about how they behave.

Also saw a good sized nurse shark under the east bridge.

That was a very productive dive. The last time I went swimming with manatees was about 30 years ago at Crystal River. One interesting experience was watching a big ole T grazing on the algae on the pontoon of our boat. Even better was watching one lift and move the anchor weight of the marker buoy indicating the no boat zone, effectively expanding his “territory”. They are interesting beasties, aren’t they?

A couple of years ago, one of them would circle the BHB island for several hours every day

We have made it to our airBNB on singer island! We’re one block in from BHB blvd and between PVD and the park entrance. We could probably walk with a wagon if we had to.

We’ll be diving every morning Friday-Monday. Anyone planning on diving this weekend? I’d love to say hi!

just finished up a night dive at the bridge, i think some of the shops are doing it tomorrow also if you have any interest. (the reason to go through a shop is to get a parking pass for post-sunset)

Enjoy! Sure wish I could join you but I'm not on that coast diving this weekend. I live ~2.5 hrs away on the SW coast. Be sure and report back on your dives!

We are arriving this evening to our air BNB,
also within walking distance of the bridge. Will be diving Saturday and Sunday with some friends as well.

We’re doing the night dive tonight with PVD.

The dive today was pretty good, I guess. Visibility started out around 10 feet, and got a little better as the sun got higher to about 15 feet. We entered the water at 7:30 for an 8:13 high tide. We entered towards the west end, then followed the snorkel trail east. We had a 1 hour 45 min dive. Average depth was 8 feet. Max depth was 12 feet.

Highlight of the dive was a very large spotted moray, free swimming from one rock pile to another. It came out and swam directly under @showmeyournudis passing under her by about 3 inches. I thought it was going to give her a hug it was so close.
