I'll be sneaking down to the Big Pine area around the middle of November (2007) to attend a buddy's wedding & will be entertaining some daytime pursuits.
The "significant other" is coming along & she got nasty seasick the last time I had her out (back in the later 1960s) so I figure to leave her on shore with the rest of the wedding party, though I might just drag her out for a snorkel if things are pancake-flat.
Anyway, does anyone have suggestions for inexpensive lodging? My usual digs will be otherwise occupied but I may opt for some camping or "whatever".

I stayed at Parmer's Resort on Little Torch Key in June. The place was very low key - clean and comfortable - with a dock for walking out on with the morning coffee. Dive shops and the grocery store were within a mile or so - so pretty convenient. I recommend it.
