I remember seeing in a post somewhere that it was hard to find parts for the vx-10 iceberg. I've been diving with mine since Feb and haven't had any problems yet, I was thinking of buying another for my pony but would have second thoughts if they are going to be difficult to get parts. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Also dose anyone else use this reg and what would be a suitable replacement for ice diving? Thanks again!

First of all, this is a very good piece of equipment. Not only that, but as you should know it also comes with a 5 year warranty. That alone speaks of how the Company believes in its products.
As far as getting replacement parts you should not have ANY problems.
I happen to dive with one and it has never failed me. Breathes very easy and is also very easy to adjust. Now you would like someone to recommend a regulator for ice diving?

Why do you think Beauchat called their new regulator ICEBERG?
Believe me when I tell you that THERE IS A REASON.

I have one as well. It's an excellent reg. There are some places around in the US, but it's becoming more scarce. The big problem is the HP seat. Everything else can be replaced by US Divers parts. Beuchat makes parts available in Canada, however, it's nearly impossible in the US.

I can tell you that John from North East Scuba Supply, North East Scuba Supply, has the HP seats and is an excellent reg tech. Dive Tank used to have a supply but they have now gotten out of the business.

Apparently, Beuchat is perfectly will to sell regs in the US, but the parts are few and far between. On my next trip to France, I'm going to check out some dive shops and see if I can purchase the HP seats.

While I think Beuchat make great regs (using them for 15 years, without any trouble), I too have had difficulty with parts and service. I wonder if the Dive Rite Hurricane kit will do for the VX or VR? Does anyone know for sure? (they are both made in the same factory, wonder if the internals have been that significantly modified, I suspect just repackaged). I wish all the manufacturers would take the mystiquie out of all this and sell the service kits directly to end users, would be a lot safer than not servicing regs at all! My 2 episodes of free flow have both occured on the first few dives following service, which makes me think there is nothing magical about an "authorised technician", other than he has paid the agency fee.

I've been told that Dive Rite tweaks the regs so they are not the same internal. I just do not know any of the shops that have broken one down to check them. I would doubt that DR would not modify it somehow so as to make money on rebuild kits. I'll follow up on this though.

I understand what you are saying. I have two guys that work on my regs. Many of the guys are not authorized reg techs, but have learned the trade by watching. Sort of like a Pharmacist's Assistant. They fill the prescriptions and then the pharmacist checks them before going out the door. Big difference is that their is nothing to tear down on a pill.

I've recently added Beuchat to my product line and parts are available from Beuchat. I'll be bringing some parts kits in soon, and kits will be available on my my web site soon. Products are being added to the web site weekly.
