Hi. I purchased some beuchat diving equipment back in new jersey where there were quite a few retailers. However, the only ones listed on their web site are out in western mass. Does anyone know of a place closer to Boston were i could get my beuchat equipment serviced? I'm new to the area and would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
dive chick

Try united divers in Somerville, MA... Phone # is 617-666-0410.

Sorry for a highjack, but,Chuck, I was wondering if you could give your view on Beuchat gear as someone with lots of experiece with dive gear.

A buddy of mine just came back for Southeast Asia (he's a marine) with a set of regs and BC by this company; I had never seen any of their stuff before and would be interested in your $.02

Thanks

Well, thanks for the flattery. I really cant give too much of an opinion. I have seen a few regs from Beuchat, and they seem fine. I really like their Y- valve they make. I dont think I have ever seen a BC from them. The biggest problem is finding someone who services their equipment, and getting parts. Their products are not very widely distributed in the US.

If it was me, I wouldnt own anything Beuchat for those reasons above. But lets face it, there are alot of companies out there making good quality equipment. Sometimes, it comes down to how easy or hard it is to get parts for a reg.

I've owned a Beuchat VX10 Iceberg for about three years now. I've never had a problem. It breathes well at depths of up to 140 fsw (deepest I've taken that reg), and I've never experienced any significant problems (although the o-ring on the DIN fitting likes to fall out).

Local service can be an issue. The shop I use for servicing that reg (and my wife's Mares) is located in Manchester, CT. However, PM me before you go there as the only reason I use them is because they are local and service Beuchat.

Service from Beuchat itself is another issue. They've been great.
