Part of America...but i wouldn't consider it located in "North America"

ScubaBabe22:
Belize is not an island..

you guys haven't been there after the last two hurricanes... it is an island NOW

right next to Yucatan Island, and north of where the islands Formerly Known as
the Bay Islands used to be

Was there december/January... NYE on Ambergis is amazing! But, not really an island, and if a reputable source is putting this out, i would have assumed they would check...however, to assume,....

Regarding Hawaii.. this is what the world atlas site says about (I had checked it, too):

Hawaii is approximately 2,550 miles southwest of Los Angeles, in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean. Politically it is part of the United States in North America, but geographically because of its (isolated location) it is not considered part of any continent.

So I guess the answer really, is "no, it's not part of North America".. guess they included it in this article becasue it's part of the US and wouldn't be reflected in another continent.

Wonders never cease....I actually knew what I was talking about...maybe 8th grade geo part was worth it!!!

Is Hawaii really considered part of North America?

Um...yes, Hawaii is North America. Just by vertue of being part of the good 'ol
U.S. of A. :usa:

BVI, USVI, Turks & Caicos and Grand Cayman are in the Caribbean not North America aren't they? I'm not even sure The Bahamas are considered North America?! aren't they their own entity in the Atlantic?

and by the way...where's Cozumel on this list? I don't think it's rated the #2 dive destination in the world for nothing!!!!!
