What's the best place to dive & increase logged dives in the Caribbean? (during December or in general)

This is nothing against the OP, but I just think its a sad state of affairs when an AOW diver was not trained well enough to feel confident doing a shore dive in Bonaire without a guide.

This is what decades of diminishing training standards will get you.

Not if you also don't have a SCUBA buddy. I needed a dive guide in Curacao because I was by myself. Solo diving is it's own certification and frankly, not a great idea under most circumstances. It was designed so that photographers didn't have to drag a buddy along while that sat for 60 minutes in the same spot hoping for that magical shot - or tso I was told. The certification come-ons are all about how it makes you more able to manage a crises when no one is there to assist. Not my cup of tea.

Training teaches you what to do but time in the water is what builds confidence to use those skills.

At 10 dives, I'd say go with the boat diving so you have access to guides.
