At 200 feet you should be using trimix which should flow better than air at 130 because of the lower molecular weight of the gas.

Who said I wasn't? You just assumed that... Regardless, how would you know when I get narced? I frequently hit depths between 200-240max before gases get switched. I can tell the difference between a POS and a good reg at that depth despite what you say. If you like we can do a blind test, I see your in miami im just up the road in west palm. Anytime let me know. I usually head out of Ft Myers to dive on some of the oil platforms, mostly for spear fishing. Well have to do it a couple of times, since I would have 50/50 shot of picking the right one. I wouldnt want anyone thinking it was just luck.

You're switching gasses at 240'........from what to what?
And why?
Thats funny... Bottom mix. Who cares, you want to know what color my underwear were too? I guess if the point was to hijack this thread then several of us did a good job at that. Sorry to the OP. Im still waiting on the follow up to my OReply to Jim. As I was not talking to anyone else when I made that statement. Funny how my post started with " Jim, "... And how everyone saw that as an opportunity to answer for him...

Maybe you need to remember you are on a public forum and everyone can comment on your post as long as we stay in the limits of the TOS.

The nature of SB is if you spout BS, a lot of experienced divers are going to call you out on it. Since your are working hard to avoid defending your position in a logical manner, it's easy to conclude the BS meter is now pegged.

You notice I didnt reply to your original comment, your prodding however does not go unnoticed. That was the point right, you like to antagonize people. I mean really, all your have to offer is you dont like my defense and my BS meter is pegged. How about this one, I have spent more time U/W peeing in my wet suit then you have bottom time. Pull out the measuring stick anytime buddy, dont get dissapointed when you come up short. Your right about the nature of scubaboard... Except you left out the part were its full of the occasional weekend warriors who think their opinion matters to anyone other then themselves.

Was looking for the "chip on shoulder" smiley.

Maybe you need to see the doc about your prostrate issue?

I actually posted twice, the first time I added my 2 cents of advice. Since I have 33 years on/off of diving with both top shelf gear and inexpensive gear I felt it was worth sharing. You and anyone else may or may not agree, you may totally discount me. Your choice.

The second time I took a swing at your attitude, so your response is not out of line. My opinion of you however remains unchanged. Just because you claim to be an instructor with lots of dives on the internet I am not going to bow down and worship you.

So me facts or share detailed logical reasoning behind your choices. Maybe your right and I am wrong, but without the data you are just a clown.

Well, what did you expect. Turn cheek response??? Not likely. Another thread bites the dust, go ahead and move this over to the cheese and whine section... Nobody wants to talk about anything other then how to critisize someone elses reply. I offered a different perspective on the topic. Which was you get what you pay for 90% of the time. I also stated that I can tell the difference between a POS and Pricey reg... I then offered a blind test. Trying to pick a part my defense, by questioning me about dumb sh***t is pointless. Either you can or you cant, some may not have the senses to notice certain changes or difference's between models. Airflow, vibration, and sound are somethings most dont pay attention to. I can tell the difference between the product lines I listed regardless of depth. I also know what its like breathing a POS at 130' and a Pricey reg at 130'. Notice how I changed the depth to better suit the viewing audience. I dont care what the old guy, the grumpy guy or the broke "A" guys say. We dont swim in the same circle, I dont expect them to ever change their opinion. If money were no object we would all be in 1 atmosphere suits... Just because they cant afford it or they refuse to let go of there historical items doesnt make them anymore wrong or right. It just means they are biased because they are set in their ways or cant afford to make changes... I never said anything about old regs being bad. Just because they are cheap now because of age, doesnt mean I value them any less. Remember we started off talking about "New Gear". How that got confused I dont know. But I assume those offended by my POS comment thought that included items that are old. That I assure is not the case. My statement was based on walking into a dive shop today and buying gear currently available new on the shelf. I should have made that clear. With that said my first statment stands.

Was that advice you were giving? On what, how to formulate a defense...? Thx! I dont know if the 33years adds to your credibilty either... Time and age is not as relevent to actual experiance when it comes to diving. By that math, my grandfather who started diving back in 1942 has both of us beat. I can say in reality since he only has around 150 dives while in the navy combined with another 100 over the years scuba diving while on vacation, he is stil a newbie when it comes to scuba diving... By your logic we are both clowns, thx for allowing me to stoop to your level for a bit. At best we can agree to disagree... I'll leave it at that.
