Best places to dive Philippines in October.

bohol/alona beach?
i like this place. diving is not very spectacular but still good. housreef (only accessible by boat) has some nice critters) balicasag and doljo point are excellent sites. also cabila day trips are possible.
but the athmosphere at alona beach is very special. no rush, everything is relaxed. few restaurants and bars along the sandy beach under the palms. approx. 300 guests at the max. this makes it a very special place.
on top of that, cabilao is easely reached from there. no i have not seen hammerheads. but lots of critters. cabilao has it all. walls down to 60m, a reef at about 6 meters for degasing ;-))) very interesting nightdives
and no night live at all ;-)))

Hi everyone in PPD. We are planning to visit & dive Palawan & Cebu region (travelling from Bangkok - BKK) from reading stuff on these boards....
We have 2½wks from mid Oct 2006. But we don't know to do:
BKK > Manila > Palawan > Cebu > BKK
or to do
BKK > Cebu > Palawan > Manila > BKK
Our concern is weather & diving visibility...Does anyone have any suggestions? Much appreciated....

i do not think there is a direct plane flight from Palawan to Cebu or vice versa. you have to drop by Manila first for that. Seair serviced the Boracay-Coron route however but if you do not have plans spending some few lazy days in the archipelago's most famous white sand beach, you can forego it.

Think the closest airport with direct flight to cebu will be Caticlan, served by Asian Spirit. You might get there by ship. check www.asianspirit.com
