What is the best dive computer for the money? I am looking at a used orca. also looking at a cochran captain wrist computer which is new i just don't want to pay too much for a junkie computer.what is a good deal and will i know it when i see it.

I don't think there is one best computer for the money; it depends on your diving needs. Do you dive trimix? If so, maybe a NiTek from Dive Rite; it seems to be a popular one on this board. If you're just rec diving on air, it would probably be overkill, and you could find ones you liked better.

In my opinion - the Data Pro from Oceanic. Full Nitrox with oxtox, great easy to interpret display. Inexpensive.

I would say the Vyper which can do nitrox and has a gauge mode for deco diving and trimix diving. These can be had for under $300, and you won't outgrow it. It's downloadable as well.
