Went diving in fresh water yesterday with my Mk17AF/S600 in -6°C(21°F) air temp and 2°C(35°F) water temp. Everything functioned perfectly (of course). I just love that regulator, I always leave it in the dive position and still it has yet to freeflow on the surface like so many regulators do when they first hit the water.

I have a MK 11 Scuba pro diaphram its supposed to be the same AS MK 17 without
the enviro. seal, so the spring is exposed,my LDS said he would not upgrade it to a MK17, so its good to hear that you aggree, because to convert is $$$$$
Any suggestions about how to keep it from freezing when i come out of water till i go in again?
also would you keep a safe second even if you had an air 2 on inflator?

Sherwood Blizzard is very good and is widely used by public safety divers in the US. I myself use a Sherwood Blizzard when Im not diving with a full face mask.

I've also had some experience with the old Cyklon Regulator from Poseidon and I like it for its simplicity. I've never had it freeze on me.
