I'm not sure why, but I often crave a cheeseburger after a morning of diving. In a few days I'll be at Suites Bahia. Any great places nearby for a tasty burger?

Burger King, on second floor East end of Cedraui supermarket above the covered parking area. 5-7 min. walk from your hotel.

OR on 35 avenue and calle 1 sur.

Come on, don't recommend Burger King or McDonalds. Mexicans can make cheeseburgers too.

From Suites Bahia go up to 5th and turn right. About 2 blocks you will see Tres Pelicanos dive shop on the left. Right beside is is a hamburger place that is only open after 7PM. One of the best burgers and fries anywhere.

Bucannos has the best burger on the island

Other excellent burgers made with real Angus beef are:
Rock-N-Java
La Cocay
French Quarter

Other really good burgers are:
Bob's
Wet Wendy's
Money Bar

There are some little local spots too - they aren't good quality meat - but tasty

Wet Wendy's will make one with crumbled blue cheese and bacon. mmmm...

Christi, I'm surprised to hear you've tried the burger at buccanos. Stepping out on your tuna? ;-)

It wasn't for DINNER Kari - hahaha! I would NEVER give up one of Ines' specials for a burger - but I've have the burger for lunch there on more than a few occasions :)

I've had the Cheeseburger at Bob's, back behind the Plaza, and it was delicious. However, I came home with a rather bad stomach bug, which I attribute to eating that delicious medium-rare burger. A course of Cipro cleared it up, but it was a miserable trip home, with several rushed trips down the airplane aisle racing to the bathroom (and hoping desparately that it wasn't occupied). I no longer eat burgers in Mexico - a burger that's well-done just isn't worth it, and a medium-rare burger in Mexico is too great a risk.
