Yours looks the same, even the name. Except I paid 4 times as much. Ugh

Edit: 250 USA, all others Taiwan.
250 and 2503 (replaceable jaw version of 250) are both now made in Taiwan. COV-3 is China (PRC).

Taiwan had really moved up in terms of manufacturing quality in the last couple of decades. I'd be happy with just about anything made there. It's been interesting watching "Made in Japan", "Made in Korea", and then "Made in Taiwan" go from being jokes to marks of quality.

Returning mine, I’d rather have a Panavise in this small table top size.

My finger is going to get very tired reporting you guys.

You only have to do it once. If/when the mod decides to split these off, it's just a matter of ticking a check box next to all the posts that need to be split and pushing the split button.

But I'll desist from further vise comments except to say that Yost quit making vises in the US in 2016. Maybe they haven't gotten around to updating that web page. If you follow the link to the individual product page, it says it's made in Taiwan.

250, 2-1/2

I’ll let Amazon know. Thanks

TBH, a vacuum base won't give you enough "grab" for anything but holding parts. When you need to torque a turret or balance chamber (modest torque, whether you choose to measure it or not), it may hold, depending upon the axis of force relative to the base. When you need to torque your yoke or DIN bolt (20-25 foot-pounds!), there is no way a vacuum base will hold.

The discussions above also touched on clamp vises that mount to a table edge. As you'll read, there were challenges.
It's a key tool for servicing, and so $35 is about minimum cost. This sort of thing:
Amazon.com: IRWIN Tools Record Light Duty Workshop Vise, 4.5-Inch (4935507): Home Improvement

Easy solution: take your cheap vise and permanently bolt it to a 1' x 2' scrap of 3/4" plywood. Then get some padded furniture clamps and temporarily attach that to your work surface.

Or regular C-clamps and some shims to protect your table.
