My wife and I are newly certified divers. During our certification she had trouble disconnecting the inflator hose. I dont have trouble with it because I use air tools frequently. I was wondering if anyone makes something that is a little easier to grip than the standard metal quick connect. Maybe a rubber piece that goes over it so you could grip it better. Any advice would be appreciated.

The Hose Hat might help if the clearance on your wife's BC allow it. There are drysuit hoses which are similar, although again it depends on the clearance you have to work with.

A rubber piece, or something else may be a good idea. At the pool I always use shop BCs and find that disconnecting and/or connecting is easy with some, hard with others (all same brand BCD of course). Makes it difficult for the student with the hard one. They should all be equally easy, though secure--in case you have a problem with the BC continually inflating at depth.

+3 hose hat.
A little more money, I've used the XS scuba EZ QD adapter too.

Some hoses are much easier to work than others. Lately, the Halcyon one comes to mind; slimmer, more supple, and much easier to work than a stiff hose with a stiff connector and a Hose Hat glommed on.
