Okay, folks, one of our readers, Mr. Pants, has been offended by my remarks.

As a member of the staff of this Board, I take that seriously, since I represent the Board in its public face.

I will make these points as simply and bluntly as I can!

(1) The bits about BWOD's and irrational fears are jokes, folks. Silly jokes by me to try to keep this thing light-hearted. They were not meant for any reader personally. Period.

(2) My opinion on GUE/DIR is simple. It is a good system. Divers who train that way improve their over-all diving practices, safety, and health. Period.

I cannot make things any plainer than that!

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

DIR/GUE You got a good system for you , but its not all ways the Right way. there is no one way to dive. if there were we would all look like idots and act like a jerk to somthing new that came out that look diffrent or changed the way others dive

No one said it was. The discusion was pro-bungies vs anti-bungies. The fact that DIR is part of the anti side has no bearing on the debate of pro-vs-con.

But everyone has their own boogeymans.

If someone said Bungied wings are not good because they aren't DIR, you might have a point. But there wasn't and you don't.
