On Jan 28th I well be back at the silo for deep diving. Don't think I can make it out to Balmorhea by 8am, but I'll give it a shot. At least the water temp out there well be above the 60's

Its called Valhalla http://www.familyscuba.com/index.cfm?SECTION=696 its an old missle silo outside of Abilene. Dive shops rent it out for classes and trips. Its like a deep swiming pool you can go down to about 120'. The water temp stays about 60 all year round.

Check out this thread. I made a trip there a couple of weekends ago with a group from SIS. Timeliner posted some good pics of the silo in the thread. It is a VERY fun dive. A lot of climbing stairs with scuba gear, but very fun.
