A workaround is finding a local agent or using Tiket.com but you need to send them an email first with a photo of your passport and credit card number in one frame/photo so they can whitelist your card. They will assure you they delete the info ASAP but it does make one nervous about throwing all your info out there.
Tiket.com works! Thanks for the tips.

Actually sending the photo of credit card is not risky (for me) as they let you black out the first 12 digits of the cc numbers & ccv/cvv, leaving the last 4 digits and expiration date with your name shown.

Has anyone got JAGAWISATA for traveling in Indonesia?

$34 is cheap. I understand that it is only to cover the cost if you get Covid which requires hospitalization in Indonesia. It’s not a typical travel insurance that would also cover missing flights, lost luggage, etc.

Would it be required to have it to get the QR code?

Thanks!
Is there a minimum coverage amount for the insurance?

Is there a minimum coverage amount for the insurance?
Not sure if I understand your question. Why minimum? You want to know the maximum, don't you?

Sum Insured
  • Maximum Sum Insured IDR 500,000,000.00
That's about $34,900.

Bummer! I used to be able to buy Lions Air ticket s directly from Nusatrip.com with my US credit card before the pandemic. It doesn’t work anymore now. I called my credit card company and they say they approved it. Even the $2,500 Singapore Airlines charge went through. They approved the $350 charge for the Lions Air tickets, but Nusatrip returned it. Strange!

Tried with my debit card and got the same result! Declined! 😡

NUSATRIP worked using AMEX

Good for you. I gave up on Nusatrip.com

Tiket.com works fine after they whitelisted my credit card. I have bought tickets for 5 of my dive buddies since then.

Since I’ll be in Indonesia for only 6 weeks (July 10 to August 20) < 60 days, then VoA is all I need. Two weeks before the 30-day VoA expired (~ July 25) I just need to visit nearest Immigration office (Kantor Immigrasi) and apply for a one-time 30-day VoA extension, as described here:
Update:
There is Kantor Immigrasi in Labuan Bajo and my boat would cruise by that port city on July 26 (16 days after getting the VoA). So I plan to swing by that office to get my VoA extended to another 30 days.

If that doesn’t work, plan B would be to fly to Singapore on Aug 8 to get another VoA before heading to my next trip on White Manta Diving - Sangalaki, Kakaban, & Maratua

No QR code needed for proof of insurance. It just needs to cover C19. I highly recommend Geo Blue. It covers dental as well and for 35 days at my age it was $81 for $1M and $0 deductible. Covers pre-existing conditions. They also provide a visa letter for whatever country you’re going to that explicitly states C19 is covered. Their coverage also includes non emergency, in case you need to see a doc while overseas. I have Voyager Choice since I have health insurance. My health insurance covers intl travel for emergencies only but it’s not as encompassing as the supplemental one I buy. Plus, their legalese is a little grey and I don’t want grey when it comes to such a big liability.just in case the immigration officer requires me to have one for VoA.I just got JAGAWISATA produk asuransi jiwa
I just went ahead and got Jaga Wisata Covid insurance card just in case the immigration officer requires me to have one for VoA.

Can you book with the local airlines directly, or do you need a third party site?

Yes if you have credit card or ATM card issued by Indonesian Bank like BCA (Bank Central Asia).
