Guys, I know we had arranged to have new gear available for the OP to pick up at a LDS. I don't know if he has yet but it doesn't matter as there has been a resolution and some internal training has occurred.

We made a couple mistakes in our handling of it and to be honest I'm glad he and Mafiaman (his issue) spoke up so we can work to ensure that there are less cracks in the Oceanic pavement so to speak.

All I ask is that Scubaboarders understand that Doug and I are doing the Scubaboard stuff in addition to our normal jobs, we enjoy it tremendously and will do all we can to answer questions or resolve issues quickly. Sometimes it may seem slow compared to INTERNET speed but we always have to get other members of the Oceanic team involved(service, shipping, our dealers) to do anything more than answer a question.(and even then we sometimes have to do some digging)

Can we talk about something fun now like PADI vs. NAUI or DIR vs. the world?:D

Tamas:
Don't go there dude! :D

hey I'm perfectly qualified to, I'm a NAUI Course Director, PADI MSDT, GUE Cave 1 and used to be a TDI Instructor (Canadian Instr #17)

pass the popcorn please :D

Crap, the thread started on a Thursday, it's Tuesday, now. Give the process a couple of business days, at least.

Seems as though it is supposed to be fixed within a week . . .

I will post something more, when something happens. In the interim, if you guys feel better bashing me, by all means. All I want is what I paid for, and what they advertise. And I will stop at nothing to get it. SO BASH AWAY... and I will feel humored when it happens to you.

I think some of us would really like to discuss this part of the story: What happened at the LDS???? You say they sold this equipment. You went to another shop. Then you went to Oceanic. If my LDS didn't bend over backwards after selling me gear I'd be PO'd at them!! My experience started rough with my Oceanic issue, but I was patient, pleasant and amicably to a solution.

Those of us that have had great experience just want the rest of the story. We’re not bashing you. We just can’t believe it was as bad as your first post indicates. It seems you called mad and ready to pick a fight. Thus your interpretation of the conversation with the reps seems to be skewed by the attitude you called with.

Please if any of you all deal with Oceanic do it with respect. Like Cerich has posted, this is not a duty of theirs to read the posts…. They took it up to better their service!!!

Isn't this forum to post both issues and compliments concerning Oceanic? This is not an Oceanic fans forum is it? I don't see that Oceanic deserves any lesser or greater respect than any other business that deals fairly with its customers and I don't think they have been treated disrespectfully.
Please read cerich's post earlier where he has specifically stated that a couple of mistakes were made.

Please don't think that I am bashing Oceanic. I use an Oceanic computer that I bought after being convinced about the fairness with which Oceanic treats its customers and the superlative service that they provide. But that does not mean that I will jump on every person that posts a complaint about Oceanic or accuse them of treating Oceanic disrespectfully.

I understand what you are saying but I, respectfully, disagree. No it isn't an Oceanic fan forum. However, when I see a company trying so hard to provide GREAT customer service it needs to be showcased. There are so many companies that have a, you bought it now go away look on life. Oceanic, from what I have seen so far, isn't one of them. Yes, problems happen. But they happen with everything in life. It isn't that things go wrong it's how the company responds when they do go wrong. Yes, some have had longer problems than others. But ultimately didn't they get resolved in the customers favor?

I agree with you on this. Nothing makes you madder than having someone defend a company that you feel treated you unjustly. However, most long term posters here, and even a short term poster like myself, can see that Oceanic will do the right thing given a litte time. And a little time is more than 12 hours. I "think" that's all most people on this post were trying to say to the OP.
See Chris here working his butt off for the customer is the difference, to me, when it comes time to buy gear. My first look when I now need gear will be to Oceanic.

DIR is that a Psychiatric acronym like OCD?
