Polypropylene webbing tends to be too flexible and too slippery to hold D-rings and inner tube loops -- it works well for crotch straps, but you really need the stiffness of nylon for harness webbing.

I have to say that my favorite webbing of everything I've tried is the stuff Halcyon sells, although the ubiquitous blue H's drive me nuts.
 
The best webbing that I've found is from Reef Scuba. Stiff, but not ridiculously so. And no H's.

I also use Reef for all of my stainless steel hardware needs. Good quality, fair prices and great service.
