DIR- GUE Attaching a whistle?

Some boats require divers to have whistles. I dive with GUE standards and their spirit is to minimize extra gear. What's the most streamlined and GUE-friendly way to attach a whistle to my gear? Zip-tying it to the corrugated hose doesn't seem good.
 
Clipped off in the pocket via a small bolt snap. That's what I do.

I'm not DIR but that is also exactly what I do as well. It's easily accessible if I ever need it. I use one of the smaller Wind Storm Safety Whistles. It is smaller than the larger Storm Safety Whistle but just about as loud. It is IMO a good tradeoff in smaller size but still more than adequate decibels.

 
bungeed to my corrugated hose keeper on my left shoulder. out of the way until i need it.
