is it sealed, or not?

Atomics website says the M1 first stage is sealed and cold-water ready, but doesn't say that about the other regs- but I've also heard they are all identical expect for the metal. Then again, the M1 has some coating that seems to imply it has better performance in cold....

The ST1 first stage should have the same geometry as the other models. As such, it is a simple matter to have it sealed in the same manner as with the M1. Christolube is filled inside the ambient chamber, and the rubber trim ring with holes is replaced with one without holes. I'm guessing you can order it that way to start with, as it can be done with Z2's and B2's. But if you get a non-sealed one, getting it sealed is pretty simple. Just be prepared to pay for the parts (a few bucks for the trim ring, $20-something for the Christolube) and labor.

On the second stage there is a monel orifice. There is no coating on the M1.

The M1 second stage orifice is stainless steel, not monel. This is in place of the usual titanium in the other models.
