+4 for me - T2X, Z2, M1, Ti2 Octo.

Breathes great and works fantastic with unusual attitudes.

I dive two M-1s on a five foot hose, all switched to mi-flex. No problems in hi current for me. Never had a problem so far, send them to Scubatoys when bi-annual is due.

My wife/buddy have been diving our Z2's for about 2 years now and love them. We both dove top of the line Scubapro for 25 years and still believe Scubapro is a fine regulator but we love our Atomics. Trish has had a problem with jaw fatigue for several years so I got the swivel upgrade. Not real pleased with the swivel. Some people may disagree but in my experience the swivel works great when not under pressure. Can move that puppy all over the place quite easily. Pressurize them and they are not much different than a standard hose in my opinion. Got rid of the swivels by swapping them out with Miflex hoses. Now that is a combo Atomic plus Miflex. Atomic should be the first company to make the Miflex their standard hose.

Atomic users have nothing but praise for their regulators. What bothers me is the seat saver on the second stage. Doesn't that make rinsing the regulator problematic, as you can't just dunk the thing in the rinse tank without pressurizing?

Also what about the grease environmental seal? Doesn't that make the regulator awkward to service?

I was going for Aqua Lung but got a deal on Atomic so I went for it. Amazingly stable and smooth breathing reg. I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a serious reg!

You can dunk the regulator just fine. Just don't leave the thing in water unpressurized for more than an hour, or the water will work its way into the 1st stage. Besides, what would possess somebody to soak a reg for an hour? Cleaning doesn't take that long.

The environmental seal goo (Christolube/Tribolube - depending on when your reg was made) can be cleaned out with solvents that specifically made for dissolving these goo.

Directly from the Atomic manual-

........................................" POST DIVE CARE
A simple fresh water rinse after every dive to clean the regulator of salt, sand
or dirt is all that is required. Do not rinse or soak the regulator in solutions
containing bleach as this can permanently damage the silicone rubber
components. Dry or blow off any water in the first stage dust cap and fit it in
place. Rinse through the ambient ports of the first stage (unless fitted with an
anti-freeze kit) and through the mouthpiece of the second stage. Rinsing is
particularly important with the chrome plated brass first stages (M1, B2, Z2)
to maintain it in top condition and keep the chrome looking attractive. Avoid
soaking the regulator unpressurized, as water may enter the second
stage and first stage mechanism. If the second stage is purged during the
rinse or soaked, it is a good idea to re-connect the regulator to a tank and blow
out any water that may have entered the first or second stage.
Store the regulator away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and deterioration of
the rubber and plastic parts. Keep away from excessive heat, humidity or insects."..................................

Not a problem. I rinse my stuff while it's pressurized.

It's a great trade-off for a 2 year service interval.

The service tech doesn't seem to mind, and if he doesn't care, I sure don't.

I was a scubapro guy for 25 years.

Now T2, 2x SS1s, 2x M1s

All happy, no problems, breathe great. When I look back all I think is why didn't I do it sooner.

I am getting tired of SP's servicing schedule and cost especially since they null and voided my lifetime parts wantanty after a 3 year break to rear children. :shakehead:
