Firmware updating capability will be included with the download software and is available for both Windows and Mac, so the end user can easily update the firmware.

Feedback from the field is a major component in firmware updates. Several suggestions from SB and elsewhere are in the 1st update, now being field tested.

What I meant was when you actually add these enhancements to the firmware, the folks who bought the computer when it first came out can add these enhancements just by updating the firmware instead of buying a new computer, is this what you mean?

Yes. You can download the new firmware and update the Cobalt using either Windows or Macintosh personal computers.

Thanks. If you are asking about the Windows download software (which is being done by a 3rd party) then it is anticipated any day now- and has been for about a month. MacDive is working on their interface to Cobalt, but I don't know how long it will take.

If you're asking about the firmware for the computer, then I would expect an update to be available early this spring. All subject to testing, of course.

Don't know what MacDive have planned in that area, but we would certainly work with anyone who wanted to integrate the Cobalt into their app.
