imho split fins are good in the pool or in ideal ocean conditions, factor in strong current and your screwed. all around nothing beats the stiff jetfins.

blues_diver:I am using the Atomic Split. As mentioned, in calm condition, it is very easy kicking using this fin. But in strong current condition underwater and on the surface when you need to kick towards the dive boat or something, you do need stronger kicking which sometimes tired you out.

scubatoys:Wow... I've heard this so many times that I wrote a whole page on the subject:
Do Split fins work in a current
click on that for the whole articles... or the short version - in a current they work better than any other fin... just as they do in still water.
The only legit complaint against splits would be if you like doing some very strange kicking movement that for some reason won't work good with them... but flutter kicking, frog kicking... can't beat them.
android:Larry,
So, if you're swimming at the speed of light using Bio Fins (with the current), and you turn on you eLED C8, will you be able to see the fish?
