To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.

Date: 2009-05-27, 1:43 a.m. E.S.T.

I was the guy wearing the blackBurberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.

First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason. My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 ..45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head .... isn't it?!

I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].

After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely grateful!

I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet... [That made his day!]

I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb .... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car..

Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what 's going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.

The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc..).

In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.Have a good day!

Thoughtfully yours,

Alex

P.S. Remember this motto ... An armed society makes for a more civil society!"

Don't know if the above ad is true, as it was sent to me but...:rofl3: :rofl3: :rofl3:

See snopes.com: Letter to Mugger

Snopes has it as "undetermined" meaning thay cannot prove it false..

This showed up on the LEO boards last year and there some guys from GA that swore it was true...the original version was shorter, it did not have mention of the FBI (who would not be involved) or 900 numbers...

It truly is none of anyone's business.

I encourage everyone to exercise all of their Constitutional rights as American citizens. To fight vehemently against anyone that may try to stifle or restrict them by voting for elected officials and policies that support the USC.

"What country before ever existed a century & a half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants."

Im never armed....Its illegal at the first place...

Depends entirely on where you live. Unfortunately.

Yes, armed and dangerous.

No, but it's OK for others to own weapons.

All guns should be seized by the government.

It's none of you darned business wheather I'm armed or not!

Guess. You might just make my day.

Shhh...Big Brother is watching

Can't believe I missed this great opportunity for relaxed social interaction with my peers!

I'm not armed. Sort of.

I have a couple of knives around the house that would be considered illegal weapons by the Dutch government. One of them was a gift from my father that he gave to me for camping. The other is a dive knife from the early 80's that should rightly be held between ones teeth and not strapped to a leg.... and it has to be strapped to a leg because it's too big to put anywhere else.

The other reason I said "sort of" is because when I was younger I did 10 years of Kung-fu training. I'm not going to win tournaments anymore and I haven't practiced in a long time but I know from experience if someone attacked me on the street I'd hold my own.

As for guns, which I assume this thread is about.... Most people can't be trusted with finger-nail clippers let alone lethal weapons. I'd prefer for the world to be a softer, kinder place than it has become by putting a gun in the hand of every psychotic weirdo on planet Earth.

With one exception. If someone breaks into my house and intends to hurt or kill my children and/or my wife then that will be the very last bad decision they ever make. I think in your own "territory" (ie, your own house) that criminals who enter by force should be shut down by force. If they intend (or threaten) to kill someone then they should, by all rights, leave in a body bag.

In Holland, the criminals have all the rights. If someone breaks into my house and rapes my wife and I walk in on him while he's doing this, blow a cork and turn him into broken road-kill that's squirming on the ground and begging for his mommy .... then *I* will be arrested for assaulting him. That's just wrong. Someone who did that and didn't see me coming had bad luck.... not rights.

That's just weird in my book. I liked it better the way it was in Canada.... Criminals who enter your house have to be dealt with using "proportionate" force but if they fall down and break a bone or get severe internal bruising then it's understood that people can't be held responsible for "how people fall down". :)

As for ownership of guns. All good. Provided they stay in and are used exclusively for the protection of house and family.

By creating laws the intelligent argument is that only the law abiding citizens will obey them. Psychotics won't. I prefer a level playing field as opposed to a one sided overly regulated one.

The moment you get the psychotics to play along I'll reconsider.

No exceptions. Harm me or others where ever I'm at and it's likely you won't enjoy the outcome.

Same here. We do have state by state exceptions and policies such as the castle doctrine but as a whole we coddle the criminal and cry excessive force for arresting them or defending ourselves with equal force.

My family isn't always in the house. Neither are criminals that would harm them.

Ya all know, scuba equipment (even spare air and split fins) would be much safer if you kept in exclusively in your house and for the protection of house and family.:D

It makes about as much sense also.
