let's not wallow in self pity. that we don't tell anyone no is bogus. the fact is that we spend less in aid than any other G8 nation and the rest of the developed world. it is true that we are more willing to pay with blood for OUR interests and, at least sometimes, help others in the process. but we have said no to plenty of folks. just think of the genocide in rwanda that killed millions with us (and everyone else) just watching. just a poor african banana republic. no oil, no threat so who cares?
the thread started with the fast food law suit. our legal system is definitely screwed up. and please don't tell me it's still better than in the rest of the world. i used to be a lawyer. such absurdities are not possible in other modern countries. however, given this system the four guys that are suing are anything but mad. they are very rational in exploiting their rights to try to make a killing. let's hope they fail. who would want to pay $5 for a big mac to help McD pay if they lose? now that would be a good reason to get REALLY mad.
