If this crazy weather clears, this saturday should good for "bugs". I just hope the mini-season crowd didn't mess everything up. We managed to have two deaths this year down here. These guys don't dive for 363 days, then drive to the keys, booze it up for 2 days, put on their unserviced scuba gear and do a lobster refresher just to catch 12 lobster each for the two days. If the diving doesn't get them, then the Florida Highway Patrol does--usually finding "a few" more lobster than the bag limit and another few shorts hidden someplace special--like the police don't know where to look.

I wish they would put an end to the mini-season. This crowd messes up the coral on the bottom, aim their boats toward any boat flying a dive flag and then curse you out for taking "their lobster".

Larry, I just left Key West this past weekend, and they were animals down there. I went diving Weds, the first day of mini and you are right, they run at your boat, lobster in marine sanctuary's. The FWC got a few like that and some other idiots taking shorts and ones with eggs. I saw a few lobsters there and all I did was take pics of them and blind em a little with the flash :mean: .

Tampascott, if your ever short a diver, let me know. I am in Tampa and am trying to find some dive buddies (all my friends want to be bubble watchers)

I suppose we should be a little kinder to them. Over here we use them for practice games before we go up against real competition. It's like they really think they are a chance, really funny to watch though.

Do you think that this is a large part of the problem? I think that jury duty should be manditory, and employers should pay their employees wages while they are doing their civic duty. None of this get out of jury duty crap.

Americans Mad?

I for one am pissed off because I would rather be diving right now and I am not. Yeah I am mad. Can I whip someone's a$$ right now? Would that make me feel better?

(She taps her foot on the ground looking around for a victim. Wait, she see someone coming. OMG is he the one? Should I jump on him and kick his butt because I am a mad American? - He changed directions. And it's a good thing he did. He almost got his tail kicked by a girl. Yeah. LOL)

Nah I don't think kicking someone's butt will help. I just need to use my brain and solve it a better way. Hum How can I do that? Go diving. Yeah. OK One less mad American out there in the world. LOL R

Edited to say: How stupid is this. Why should "Americans" be lumped together because some stupid sap burn her wazoo with her own Micky Ds coffee or some other ignorant thing like that? That's like seeing one bad diver and saying that all scuba divers are unsafe. (Sorry that's the sailor coming out in me. Soapbox speach over.)

Are we mad, I don't know. Let me start by saying I love my country, would shed blood for it and would jealously defend its interests should anyone say otherwise. But that being said, I am mad. Too many things in our society are over exploited. Social security, welfare, the aforementioned litigations, racial issues etc. What do I mean, a person buys a cup of coffee, spills it and gets burned, sues and gets money for it. Wheres the common sense. That should've been tossed. Our gov't uses social security as if it's free money and if things keep going the way they are there will be none left for me. I can't go to a fast food restaurant and expect the person at the counter to speak english anymore, thats bs. English is the language in the U.S. I think prejudice against races and sexuality has made a major revolutions in terms of treatment and in fact believe its gone to the opposite these days (just look at t.v. programming these days). In God We Trust! All in all abuses of gov't services are in fact "raping" tax paying americans to the point it becomes difficult to live. Should'nt welfare recipients do something for their money? Where all the weapons we started a war over? Keep cutting taxes so there is no more gov't services left. Kids these days, especially young girls, 13, 14 15 years old dressing like they are 25, no one sees a problem with this? Kids grow up fast enough. Kids bring guns to school, shoot classmates that tease them or whatever. Where are the parents? I grew up getting my a-- beat and had respect and was taught right from wrong. I got my share of abuse from peers, but got over it. Our society has completely broken down, there is no more "family". Look at the divorce rate, it' sickening. America seems to has lost it's sense of values and common sense. I wish we could stop and take a look around and see whats happening to us. Just my ramblings of thoughts on how I perceive our society.

americans account for only 3% of the world's population. yet consume about 30% or the world's resources. most of which, as you know don't come from america...I wouldn't use "mad," but than again don't know what I would call that.
