This past 4/1 the mods decided to allow certain controls to be turned of to help play a joke on the rest of us. (I am pointing directly at the
"Pssst...lets talk about them while they are not here" thread in Humor forum)
In a pm to me I was accusesed of personally attacking someone.

I fell for the joke and unintentionally caused someone else some pain.
For causing someone else pain I am truelly sorry.

In my pm to the person who clued me in, I asked if anyone else was asked to apologize for undue pain caused by this joke?

Does anyone else think this joke went to far? or had the potential to go too far?
Is anyone else feel any undue pain because of this "joke" thread?

I find it hard to believe that someone like yourself, with your grasp of logic and general down-to-earth attitude, could pass judgment on something that you didn't see in action.

My dear, where did I pass judgement on something I didn't see?

I had a difficult time tearing myself away to drive an hour to my grand daughters' BD party, and even then had to log on there a few times. 36 hours was more than enough, but it was a hoot. I was happy to catch it early and get the board rolling well with provocative threads on half a dozen forums.

I'm still considering publishing the PMs I received. :D

Just a few snips :

>It's not that I didn't like "it." I never saw "it." I don't even know what "it" was other than everyone saw their own screen name in certain places around the board.

>I also made the point that if people were hurt by pranks, then the pranks weren't funny. If you hurt someone, you should be remorseful and try to make it right. The fact it was a joke doesn't excuse you from causing pain. Jokes should always be fun, never hurtful.

It was sheer genius...it took me like an hour of reading posts about 'me' to figure it out.

Cheers.

I personally loved each and everyone that I read. I know I heard from a many of you about this and verified what was going on and all I can say is WELL DONE. For those of you that may have been hurt, I am sure it was not intended to be so.

This is the internet, and its a bored where people can express themselves how ever they feel like doing within the TOS. I am sure that if it had gotten to that point someone would have corrected the thread and or removed it.

I am still laughing about this and will for some time, Good job to everyone involved.....

What I'm upset about is that I was going to have TWO hot females go for a dive in my bathtub nude with me as the guide. Sat on here last night for two hours naked waiting for them to show up! Then I figured it out. It was just Don leading me on again.

That was flat out the best forum prank ever! Watching the fragile little egos of some people as they blew a gasket, too funny! This MUST have been the highest post day ever? Thanks SB for way too much fun!
It's spring now, dont forget to get the cold air changed out of your tires or your gas milage will suffer.

I don't see that as passing judgement.

That's a conditional statement, Darlin'. I didn't say the pranks hurt anyone, merely that if they hurt someone....... Others indicated they were hurt.

I agree that joke ceases to be funny when motivation behind it is to hurt. Yet there is noway of controlling someone misinterpreting even the best of intentions (on the internet) or someone abusing and innocent joke on third party by adding wood to the fire a little more...

This was a simple but oh-so clever prank and directed at nobody personally. Some chose to take it personally for one reason or another - and feel hurt even after explanation because it's hard to feel so foolish. I believe in childish fun and kind of feel sorry for people who take themselves a tad too serious.
