I’m trying to remove the seat from my tx50. Per the manual, it says to unscrew 6-7 turns out (counter clockwise), then push it out with seat tool. The seat is not coming out. It turns very freely. I have unscrewed it a lot, it’s no longer moving outward. Then, when I push, hard... nothing. Any suggestions? Thank you

First or Second Stage ?

Assuming Second stage. Have you removed the internal barrel from the external case?
.

you mean the soft rubber seat, part 31 and not the seat crown, part 19 right?

are you on step 12 to remove the adjustment screw? did you take the retaining pin out already?

you may just need to tug on it a little due to some buildup while turning counterclockwise

I’m on the second stage. The whole barrel is stripped down minus the seat. It’s step 13 in the apeks repair manual. Trying to remove part 18 (seat) apeks part #2033

that is the seat crown. if it is spinning freely, then the threads should be fully disengaged. are you inserting from the right and then pulling the tool out from the left?

I do not have the tool. I’m inserting a dowel from the right, and pushing towards the left. I’m pushing towards the threaded end that the heat exchanger threads on.

I think the internal diameter where the threads are is narrower than the rest. If the dowel is too thick it will hang up. Try a thinner dowel.

try using the hex key to turn it counterclockwise while you push with the dowel. check how deep the dowel is getting in case it is getting caught.
