I purchased my ATX50 from my LDS. Yes, it did
cost more than LP but I did get the warranty
for life. I also get the benefit of the knowledge
of my LDS regarding other things. He spent
over an hour and half with me explaining the pro/cons
about dive computers!!! Beat that LP!!!

And most LDS work with you in regards to other
things if they cannot reduce their regulator
pricing. Mine did.

How is getting advice from your LDS worth anything? I wouldn't listen to my LDS if they paid me. I fail to see how an LDS is good for anything except gas fills and buying equipment... and buying equipment is cheaper online.

If (and it is a BIG if) I one day found a dive shop that gave quality instruction and advice, I might consider buying equipment from them.

sasadaf -- I guess I am fortunate enough to have
such a shop in my area. Hopefully you will
get one in yours as well. And as long as my LDS
continues to provide good service and fair pricing (I did not
say cheap), I will continue to support it.

my 3 cents worth

Actually, I misspoke, the environmental seal for the 100 is on the bottom, but on the 200 it is on the top...
