After diving with the comfo-bite mouthpiece for ten years - they were used on USD regs from the late 80's into the 90's - I swithched to the Seacure when I changed regulators. I once thought that the comfo-bite was the best thing since sliced bread. However, since changing, I will not dive without the Seacure mouthpieces. They are on all my stage bottles as well. No more jaw fatigue and headaches.

Regards,
Dennis

I use the Seacure on one and Comfobite on the other. I will say that I couldn't stand it either until I turned it upside down. After that it was just fine. No issues at all. Kind of strage but it works.

Try turning the mouthpiece upside down and see how you like it then.

Comfo bite makes me gag , the stock ones on Dive rite and sherwood make my jaw hurt. So one day i tried the sea cure , with a little trimming , good to go and wont go back.

after complaining about it, I went out and actually dove my new reg with the comfo bite mouth peice. I have to say, it was great, no problems at all, and very comfortable!

Ditto on the seacure. I dive with the TX50. I also changed the hose to a different port on the 1st stage. The reg always felt like it was trying to pull out of my mouth when pressured up. Changing the port made the hose feel more relaxed. A world of difference. My $.02

I have the XTX50 with comfobite and used it for the first time last weekend for 4 dives. No problem at all. When I inspect the reg while cleaning it, I realised the left and right side of the mouthpiece where you bite was torn!

Anyone has similar experience?? Is it a case of biting too hard? If yes, it seems a bit flimsy.

thanks

It's a case of you clamping down and biting VERY hard. The stuff they make the new Comfo-Bite mouthpieces out of is very tough. Time to relax while diving...the mouthpieces are there to hold the reg in your mouth, not to bite down on. :)

Exactly. I use a comfo-bite, and would never use anything else. They're not designed to bite down on at all, just relax and let it hang there. I'm so relaxed diving with it, I sometimes have to remind myself to keep my lips closed around it...LOL

Thanks guys! I have been using rental reg for the past few years and this is my first personal reg. Must have treated it like a rental reg without realising it, i.e. if you don't bite on it, the reg will fall out from your mouth!!

Here I thought it was some manufacturing defect and can claim warranty against it... :D
