There is an argument that talc may end up in the valves and ruin them if you are not careful. For this reason silicon lubricant or KY jelly are actually a better solution
I didn't see it mentioned in the thread so I'll let people know that whenever silicone is mentioned in conjunction with drysuits, it's 100% soluble in water silicone (you can find this info in the products MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet)
