Bahia Honda State Park, just south of Marathon at mile marker 37 oceanside, is a great place to spend a day at the beach... one of America's best, according the Conde Naste Traveler. For a classic Keys dining experience, eat at the 7mile Grill (7am to 9pm, closed Wednesdays) at mile marker 47.5 bayside. Enjoy!

There are several 'swim with the animal' setups down there. So if you wanted you could swim with dolphin, sea lions, and one other critter.

Everything else I can think of has already been suggested

thanks to everyone for the input. certainly sounds like there is enough there for all of us to do. i should be going there sometime at the end of the month... i'll be sure to post a trip report when i get back!

Try eating at Mrs. Macs in Key Largo. Not only the best food in the keys, but possibly the cheapest as well. As for the dolphin encounters, they wont let preggie ladies do that. We went down island last month and my wife was pretty upset when they told her she couldnt. Have Fun!

PS if you take the glass bottom boat, dont forget the sea sickness medicine. It was interesting to see a whole boat load of people toss their cookies over the side. And we went on a calm day!!!

If you do want to go biking, there's a bike path that runs pretty much the length of the keys (I know from Key Largo to Islamorada) alongside Highway 1. The best local fish would be at Calypsos, across from the Fisheries at MM100. The Fish House is good for tourists but the prices are kind of high (nice for a "nice" meal, though). Also, there are several fishing charters. Pennecamp has an entrance fee of $5 per car. I worked at Silent World Dive Center for about eight months last year-if you're still looking for a Dive Shop- their package prices are the lowest if you have your own equipment (less than $40 for a two tank boat dive).
