I use the Weezle Extreme+ in the cold waters of the Great Lakes for long deco and ice dives. I have had no problems being cold. Water temps in the mid 30s. I even had the suit flood to the waist in 40F water and was only slightly chilled. I wear the suit paper thin and am still warm. So the argument that you need a lot of air for loft to keep warm is subjective. Some people may require a lot of loft, some may not. In my experience, I needed more air in my suit for the DUI 400g than the Weezle just to offset the squeeze and mobility. I have also felt colder in the 400g than the Weezle. See if you can't find a loaner for your wife to try out.

You're diving in FL right? I'd prefer experience in something comparable to our 46 to 52F Puget Sound waters.

I have dove the exteme plus in areas other than Florida (we do have airports and cars down here).

I've actually been diving in Puget Sound.

Richard, why don't you guys borrow my 400g and try it? If it works and doesn't cause buoyancy issues, you can have it for what I paid for it.

I'm good to 54F in the TPS extreme. 2 dives. But really the 400gm is noticably warmer. I'm sure she'd love one, if it would actually fit better than her sleeping bag.

Maybe get a 400, cut the darned legs off and get someone to sew some 200G legs onto it :) The daughter of all hybrids!

How about gators?

Well the cave cut TLS350 doesn't take/require gators. She's tried mine already. The DUI400gm is just wicked bulky, esp. in the legs. And its basically non-compressible so gators aren't really the solution to the gumby cut factor.

Have you decided to ditch it? Let's drop her into it next Wed at your party and see how it fits.

got it.

This is exactly what I was thinking. why doesn't anyone do this already? The vest on top of the 200gm is definately whimpier than my 400gm alone.

I am really puzzled as to how the wkpp folks manage to dive the 400g undergarment/tls350 cave cut combo and still get good mobility. Plus the butt panel on the latest versions of the 400g undergarment is just amazingly huge. It's as if they stuffed a pillow back there.

I wonder if they may have developed a good way of getting custom sizing measurements. The places I've seen here seem to vary sizing practices depending on which shop/employee you talk to.

This has been my experience to the letter with the Weezles.

I just switched back to my weezies after over a year trying other stuff. Nothing I have tried even comes close. I forgot how warm I could be. I had what I needed all along, and didn't even know it.
