My 'stros are still going to pull this off. I think Lidge might have been knocked off his high horse so he will do a good job closing Wednesday.

If YOUR 'stros pull this off (and this means you, too, TwoBit :)), SOMEONE is going to owe me $20, because that's how much I will have lost on the Cardinals. I accept cash, checks, money orders, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and DiscoverCard...LOL

Chip, are you sure the cap didn't say athletics white :D socks? Pinoy humor.
lol, if I still had it I'd check again - I DID get it at Greenhills....same place I got my first Nike running shoes (except the swoosh on each shoe was backwards!)

Go White Socks!!! :D

I called the home run on Monday as he stepped up to the plate. I am a sick individual...there is something i really enjoy about seeing thousands of fans cheering almost certain their team is going to the World Series...one out away, one strike away, and then BAM...ALL GONE...down 5-4...the crowd gets silent their hopes dashed for that instance. I was cracking up.

I even want the Astros to win the series it was just one of those moments of sports agony that I so enjoy others going through...I'm a Cubs fan by heart...maybe that has something to do with it.....but when that ball left his bat and that crowd looked up in agony...I was laughing my arse off...well first my mouth dropped and then I started laughing.

I hope this series goes 7 just for the drama.

Yes, indeed. Misery loves company. :)
Although I want to put myself out of some of the misery and let it end tonight.

I was also counting down the strikes with the rest of Houston. Getting 1 strike away from the WS is even worse then our poor Cubs.

People here, and on the TV, and radio, are all very positive about tonight. They are saying things like, "They should have learned from their mistakes, and will not make them again tonight." I hope so.

Time will tell.

Just a reminder to all of you Astro Fans, think of the 1985 Angles leading 3-1 against the Red Sox and ended up losing the ALCS. Needless to say, Yanks last year 3-0 ....

Baseball is played one game at a time.....

Or....in the case of the White Sox....four in a row... :D

Just for clarification, it was the 1986 Angels that lost to the Red Sox. They were also one strike away from the World Series. It probably should have been the Astros and Angels in the World Series that year, rather than the Mets and Red Sox.
